Anker Solix FAQ
Which balcony power station is the Solix solar bank compatible with?
The Solix solar bank is compatible with around 99% of the balcony power stations available on the market. The decisive factor for compatibility is the micro inverter. The solar bank works with micro inverters that support voltages between 11 and 60 volts. Compatible brands include Deye, Hoymiles and APsystems.
Please note, however, that the Solix solar bank is not compatible with string inverters. For detailed information or if you have any further questions, we recommend that you contact our customer support team.
How does the Solix solar bank work?
The solar bank is connected between the solar panel and the micro inverter. Solar power is fed to the solar bank and intelligently distributed to the micro inverter to power the house. Excess power is stored in the solar bank's battery instead of going directly to the grid. If the solar energy generated is significantly less than the household's electricity needs, the stored energy supplies the house with electricity.
Here is how the distribution of electricity works, and you can set this in the "Anker APP" according to your consumption habits. There are three possible scenarios, depending on the amount of solar power generated compared to the electricity demand:
1. When a lot of solar power is generated: When the solar energy is greater than or equal to your set power demand, the solar bank will supply the set amount of power to the house and the excess power will be stored.
2. When solar power is generated moderately: If more than 100 watts are produced but less than your set demand, the solar power generated flows directly into the house, but no excess power is stored. In this case, the stored energy is not used.
3. When little solar power is generated: If the solar module produces less than 100 watts and this is far below your needs, the stored energy is used to supply your house with the amount of electricity you set.
How can I prioritize charging the solar bank?
If you use an inverter other than the Anker MI80 series and prefer to charge your solar bank, you can use the “0W output switch”.
This switch helps you better control the use of the solar bank by preventing it from emitting power. Make sure that both the firmware and the app are always up to date.
